The Light Beacon for Drivers developed by SAPREM allows signaling the presence of medium and high voltage power lines.

Suspended cables on high and medium voltage lines are a significant hazard to low-flying aircraft. When these are located near airports, as well as at valley and river crossings, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) recommends that they be marked by installing lights on the same cable.

The SAPREM Driver Beacon model uses the field created by the driver as a power source, resulting in a new morphology and making its installation easier. It allows beaconing even lines lower than 60kV, made unfeasible with current beacons, which use an auxiliary conductor to feed.

The SAPREM Driver light beacon has been designed in accordance with the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

SAPREM has designed type A and type B low intensity Light Beacons (according to ICAO standard), for aerial cables in High and Medium voltage lines with a light intensity of 10cd and 32.5cd respectively.
